Directions

From North Wilmington/Claymont:

Take I-95 South and exit at "Fourth Street" exit. Follow signs to Martin Luther King Blvd. Once on Martin Luther King Boulevard, stay in right lane and turn right onto Route 13 South (South Market Street). Cross the bridge and take first left onto "A" St. Once on "A" St., cross one traffic light, and look for the shelter on your left. Shelter is a tan colored stucco building with green trim.

From Downtown Wilmington:

Travel down King St., past the train station, under the underpass, and continue along South Market Street across the bridge. Take the first left onto "A" St. Once on "A" St., cross one traffic light, and look for the shelter on your left.

From Newark or Points South:

Take I-95 North to the Maryland Avenue exit. At the bottom of the off-ramp, take a right onto Maryland Avenue. At the first traffic light, go right onto Martin Luther King Boulevard. Stay in the right lane and turn right onto Route 13 South just before the train station. Cross the bridge and take the first left onto "A" Street. Go through the traffic light (Texaco on corner) and look for the shelter on your left.

The Delaware Humane Association (DHA) is Delaware’s premiere non-profit, lifelong care animal shelter and adoption center. The DHA is committed to providing for the needs of homeless and abused dogs and cats in our community. Serving over 5,000 companion animals annually through direct intervention and many more through advocacy, the Delaware Humane Association continues to promote the humane values of protection, care, and compassion for all living things by providing Special Programs, Humane Education and Outreach. The DHA envisions a future where all people and their pets live healthy, happy and long lives together.
