Delaware's First Lady joins DHA in recognizing volunteers for their service
Posted on August 22, 2012
Delaware Humane Association honored its volunteers on Saturday, August 4th with a Volunteer Appreciation Brunch, held at the Junior Achievement Building on Walnut Street in Wilmington. Staff invited volunteers to relax and mingle in an effort to show appreciation for the time and effort they give to DHA throughout the year.
The event's special guest speaker, First Lady of Delaware Carla Markell, thanked the volunteers for their dedication and stressed the importance of the animal welfare movement in Delaware. She also shared stories of their dog Rue, who they recently adopted from DHA.
Thank you to all of DHA's volunteers who help keep the cats and dogs in our care happy, healthy and adoptable. Your dedication makes it possible for DHA to fulfill its mission and we couldn't do it without you.
New volunteers are always welcome! For more information about voluteering at DHA and how to get started, visit dehumane.org/volunteer.
