All work and no play? Not at DHA!

Labor Day is a time to relax and recognize the hard work that you do all year round. At DHA, it is the hard work of our staff and volunteers that keeps the animals as healthy and happy as possible while they wait for forever homes. There is never a day when at least a handful of people are at the shelter to take care of our furry friends, even on Labor Day, but for all involved it's a labor of love.

One reward is that there's always time for a quick play break with a litter of kittens, an afternoon walk with a favorite dog, or a few minutes to stop and enjoy our canine residents playing together in one of the fields; even a brief visit to the free roaming cat room can wash away the stress of the work day.

We wish everyone an enjoyable Labor Day, whether you're at work or not, and hope you are able to spend some time at play with your pets today.
