New DHA Board of Directors officers and members announced

The Delaware Humane Association’s Board of Directors has re-elected the following new officers: President, Daniel E. Cruce, Esq.; Vice President, Rodney N. Brittingham; Treasurer, Dawn E. S. Shore, CPA; and Secretary, Sarah R. Stafford, Esq.
Five new members were welcomed to DHA’s Board of Directors for 2012: Patricia M. Blevins, Delaware State Senator, 7th District; Amy S. Cohen, Esq., Associate General Counsel, Barclaycard US; Peggy H. Eddens, Executive Vice President, Chief Human Capital Officer, WSFS Bank; Gerald J. Proffitt, Esq., Attorney, Ward & Taylor, LLC; and Erik J. Raser-Schramm, Director of the 2012 Coordinated Campaign for the Delaware Democratic Party.

Cruce is Vice President for Education with the Hope
Street Group, a national public policy nonprofit organization. Formerly
the Deputy Secretary of Education/Chief of Staff for the Delaware
Department of Education, he is serving his second term as President of
DHA’s Board of Directors. He is also on the Executive Committee of the
Delaware Theatre Company’s Board of Directors, serves as President of
the Delaware Arts Consortium’s Board of Directors, and is a Board Member
of the Wilmington HOPE Commission. |

Brittingham, Deputy Director of the Delaware Division
of Family Services, is serving his second term as Vice President of
DHA’s Board of Directors. He is also a Board Member of United Way of
Delaware PRIDE Council and of the Interagency Coordinating Council, and a
Delaware Policy and Advocacy Committee Member for the American Heart
Association. |

Shore, Controller for The Brandywine Conservancy, is
serving her second term as Treasurer of DHA’s Board of Directors and has
her own handcrafted jewelry business, Bijoux. |

Stafford, Litigation Associate with Benesch,
Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff, LLP, is serving her second term as
Secretary of DHA’s Board of Directors and is a member of the Wilmington
Rowing Center. |
 |
Blevins was first elected to the State Senate in 1990
after having served as Mayor of the Town of Elsmere. She chairs the
Senate Judiciary Committee and has served as Senate Majority Leader
since 2009. She is a long-time advocate for children and family issues
and works to develop laws and policies that protect companion animals. |

Cohen is Associate General Counsel for Barclaycard US.
She previously held legal positions at Bank of America and Hercules
Incorporated. |

Eddens joined WSFS Bank in 2007. As the Chief Human
Capital Officer , she oversees all aspects of Human Capital and leads
the Bank’s strategic planning process. She is on the Junior Achievement
Board of Directors and serves on the JA Leadership Council. She is a
member of the Events Committee for Little Sisters of the Poor, a member
of the University of Delaware Employer Advisory Cabinet, Program
Director for the University of Delaware School of Continuing Studies for
the Strategic Human Capital Certificate program, and serves on DHA’s
Personnel Committee. |

Proffitt is an attorney at Ward & Taylor where he
specializes in real estate, estate planning and the formation/operation
of corporate entities. He is also an instructor for the Delaware Real
Estate Commission. |

Raser-Schramm is Director of the 2012 Coordinated
Campaign for the Delaware Democratic Party and formerly served as Chief
of Staff to the Speaker of the House, Robert F. Gilligan. He is a former
AmeriCorps*VISTA Volunteer, served a term on the Governor’s Commission
for Volunteer and Community Service, and volunteered with the KHG Brain
Tumor Foundation. |
