Third-Party Fundraising Events
Are you interested in raising funds to support the programs which benefit the animals and programs of Delaware Humane Association? We greatly value your interest and willingness to coordinate an event that benefits our organization and the animals in our care.
What is a Third-Party Fundraising Event?
A third-party fundraising event is any fundraising activity by a non-affiliated group, organization or individual (sponsor) which benefits DHA, where DHA has no financial responsibility, and minimal or no staff involvement is required.
Past fundraising events held to benefit DHA have included photo contests, guest bartending events, restaurant specials, theatrical and musical performances, art shows, sports games and tournaments, sales, raffles, silent auctions, pet supply drives, and even a doggie pool party! Many are events that can be attended in person, and others offer participation online via websites such as Facebook.
We strive to support third-party fundraising events to the greatest extent possible with the resources we have, however we kindly ask that all such events follow DHA guidelines and be approved in advance. Proposals should be submitted no later than two weeks prior to the scheduled event, although at least 30 days is preferred.
Each proposal will be carefully reviewed for feasibility and suitability with our organization’s mission, goals and objectives. This is an important safeguard to preserving the integrity of Delaware Humane Association and our commitment to raise the funds necessary to fulfill our mission in a cost-effective manner.
Third-Party Fundraising Event Guidelines
The following guidelines have been developed to protect both the event sponsors and DHA. After you have reviewed the guidelines, please complete the enclosed Third-Party Fundraising Event Proposal Form and submit it at least two weeks prior to your proposed event. Once the proposal has been received, DHA staff will notify you of any questions/concerns. The proposal will then be reviewed by a DHA staff committee and you will receive written confirmation regarding their decision.
