Dog licensing reminder for Delaware residents
Did your dog's license expire at the end of 2014, or do you have a new dog who is six months or older and hasn't been licensed yet? March 1st is the legal deadline for getting it done!

Doing what's best for the animals
The circumstances that bring animals to DHA may upset some people, making them question their caregivers' "lack of responsibility and compassion". But at DHA we have learned that there are always many sides to every story, and our side is to always do what is best for the animals.

Volunteer Spotlight: Jacki Senigo
Jacki has volunteered at the DHA in many capacities, including helping out with events, fostering and socializing cats and kittens, doing laundry, cleaning animal carriers, organizing supplies, and grounds keeping/gardening. She even build a special cart to help a young cat with mobility issues walk and stand on her own!

WSFS announces winners of Pet Photo Contest and makes donation to DHA
The results are in! Winners of WSFS Bank's 6th Annual Pet Photo Contest have been announced. In addition, WSFS Bank donated $2,500 to DHA to help us further our mission!

Please help us keep their bowls full
Giving the animals in our shelter the best care possible is a priority at DHA. Keeping enough canned food on hand to supplement dry food can be a challenge when working with a limited budget, so we are reaching out for your help keeping our shelves stocked.

Delaware's new animal welfare license plate now available
DHA Executive Director Patrick Carroll was on hand yesterday as Delaware's Office of Animal Welfare unveiled the new design of the State's animal welfare license plate at Delaware SPCA!

Capital campaign and new building update
Doors are open, cats are playing, dogs are barking... come see for yourself what's got all the animals so excited! On Tuesday, December 2, 2014 we officially opened the doors of DHA's long-awaited Tatiana and Gerret Copeland Animal Care Center to the public.
