Join us for VCA Kirkwood's 2nd Annual Dog Days of Summer 5k
Start your engines... or maybe your feet! Join us on Sunday, August 24th for VCA Kirkwood Animal Hospital's 2nd Annual Dog Days of Summer 5k at The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille in Newark, DE. This fun event will benefit DHA!

Duck, Duck, Drink!
Join us for a howlin' (or should we say quackin'?) good time at TWO dog-friendly "yappy hours" to benefit DHA: August 19th at Klondike Kate's and August 21st at Kelly's Logan House! At each event, we'll have DHA information, DUCKS, DUCKS, DUCKS, retail items such as t-shirts, raffles and other FUNdraising activities. Plus, adoptable dogs from DHA will be on hand to meet you.

Tails Around the Tower, DHA's Annual Walk for the Animals in Rockford Park, has been nominated for a News Journal Readers Choice award in the Best Festival category! Save the date for our 24th Annual Walk for the Animals on Sunday, October 5th, and help us spread the word and vote in support of this popular event that brings animals lovers together to raise funds in support our mission to care for and find homes for homeless animals, and provide low cost services to pet owners in our community.

Art is going to the dogs at the Delaware Art Museum
DHA and the Delaware Art Museum are teaming up for Doggy Days of Summer, a fun pooch-inspired event to be held at the Delaware Art Museum from 6 to 10 pm on August 8th.

Design the license plate for pet lovers in Delaware
The Office of Animal Welfare has launched the First State Paw Draw--a statewide contest to redesign the animal welfare license plate. A portion of the proceeds from license plate sales will go to the state fund to provide low-cost spay and neuter services to cats and dogs in Delaware.
