Adoption Special for adult cats at DHA!
Cuddling with furry, purring friends is a great way to warm up your body and mood during these cold winter months! As an added incentive for anyone adding a new feline friend or two to their lives, DHA has lowered the regular adoption fees for adult cats--adopt one cat for $60 (a savings of $20), or two for $90.00 (a savings of $30).

2012 dog licensing reminder for Delaware residents
Are you a Delaware dog owner? Give your pets a safe start to the New Year by getting them licensed for 2012 by March 1st. Getting a dog license is easy and inexpensive. It's also State law, and along with microchipping is one of the best ways to ensure your pet will be returned if lost. Enjoy a night of improv comedy to benefit the animals at DHA
Newark High School's comedy improv troupe, The Rude Mechanicals (TRM), has decided to make their January 13th show a benefit for the animals at Delaware Humane Association. TRM is the premier high school comedy improv group in the area, offering 10 years of laughter and community support. Come out for a fun night of comedy and help the animals at the same time!

The Adventures of Kitty-Watt
In mid-September 2011, a group of employees in Regulatory Affairs at the Pepco Holdings New Castle Regional Office discovered a kitten in the bushes along the building's main drive in Newark. They were alerted to its presence by loud meowing. Food was purchased for the kitten and the group attempted to coax it into a box.
