Concord Pet cat food donation drive benefits DHA cats
Thanks to generous shoppers and the staff at the Concord Pet Foods & Supplies store in Chestnut Run Shopping Center, DHA received a big donation of canned food to help take care of cats waiting for forever homes.

For just $9 you can save a cat who could end up saving you
Adopt any of cat or kitten from DHA ages 9 months or older for just $9 during the "9 Lives for $9" adoption event from June 21st through 30th. This special promotion is supported by national animal welfare organizations Best Friends Animal Society and PetSmart Charities.

DHA will celebrate 56th Birthday by breaking ground on new shelter
In September 2010, DHA initiated a capital campaign to raise funds for a new shelter to replace the current 40 year old facility. After a long wait, we are ready to move to the next exciting step! On June 25th, as DHA celebrates its 56th birthday, we will break ground on The Tatiana and Gerret Copeland Animal Care & Companion Center.

CAN you help us keep their bowls full (with canned food)?
Giving the animals in our shelter the best care possible is a priority at DHA. Keeping enough canned cat food on hand to supplement dry food can be a challenge when working with a limited budget. So, we are reaching out for your help keeping our shelves stocked.

Join the Wilmington Blue Rocks and DHA as we partner together to spread the word about pet adoption and responsible pet ownership while the Blue Rocks take on the Carolina Mudcats. A portion of each ticket sold will benefit DHA!

Today is a time to celebrate the love of mothers everywhere, and we wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day, but we're also reminded that not everybody has one.
