Helping Hands Club

Lend a hand to help us save lives!

With your support, we never have to say no to animals in need simply because funds are not available.

During the spring and summer months many orphaned or abandoned puppies and kittens are brought to the shelter. Due to their age and environmental conditions, many of these young animals are in need of special medical care to help them to become healthy and adoptable. In addition, dogs and cats of all ages come to us throughout the year with a variety of medical care special needs.

If you would like to help us to save more lives, consider signing up to become a member of DHA’s Helping Hands Club. As a member of the Helping Hands Club, your name will be placed on a special list of people willing to assist when an animal emergency arises. When needed, you will be contacted and will learn about the animal in need of your support.

Club members will be asked to send $50 or more to help us care for a specific animal in need. Members typically are not contacted more than twice a year, but you don't have to wait for a medical special need to arise. You can also choose to make a one time or recurring donation of $15 or more.

Ways to make a Helping Hands donation

Direct Donation Plan

You don't have to wait for a medical special need to arise—have a donation deducted automatically from your checking or savings account, or charged to a credit card. The Direct Donation Plan will help you in several ways:

• It saves time—fewer checks to write and mail.
• Making a donation will be convenient and time-friendly—even if you’re on vacation or out of town.
• It saves postage—many people spend close to $100 per year on postage.
• It’s easy to sign up for, easy to cancel.

The authority you give to charge your account will remain in effect until you notify DHA in writing or terminate the authorization. The Direct Donation Plan is dependable, flexible, convenient, and easy.

Automatic checking or savings account deductions

You won’t have to change your present banking relationship to take advantage of this service, just authorize regularly scheduled donations to be made from your checking or savings account. Then, just sit back and relax. Your donation will be made automatically on the specified day. Proof of your donation will appear on your statement. To take advantage of this service, complete the authorization form and return it to DHA:

Automatic credit card payments

Sign up for a recurring monthly credit card payment using our online donation form. The authority you give to charge your account will remain in effect until you notify DHA in writing or terminate the authorization.

One Time Donations

Make a one time credit card payment using our online donation form. You can also drop off your donation by visiting the shelter, or mail it to the address above.
