Our Location
The Delaware Humane Association is located south of Downtown Wilmington near the train station and
the Riverfront Market, at 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801. The shelter is a tan colored stucco building with
green trim in a fenced lot, with signs on and near the front gate.

Driving Directions
From North Wilmington/Claymont or Points North
Travel on I-95 South and take the "Fourth Street" exit. Follow the signs to Martin Luther King Boulevard. Stay in the right lane and turn right onto Route 13 South (also called South Market Street) just before the train station. Cross the bridge and take the first left onto "A" Street. Go through one traffic light, and look for the shelter on your left a little ways down.
From Downtown Wilmington
Travel south on Market Street, cross Martin Luther King Boulevard, and continue along Route 13 South (also called South Market Street). Cross the bridge and take the first left onto "A" Street. Go through one traffic light, and look for the shelter on your left a little ways down.
From Newark or Points South
Travel on I-95 North and take the Maryland Avenue exit. At the bottom of the off-ramp, take a right onto Maryland Avenue. At the first traffic light, go right onto Martin Luther King Boulevard. Stay in the right lane and turn right onto Route 13 South (also called South Market Street) just before the train station. Cross the bridge and take the first left onto "A" Street. Go through one traffic light and look for the shelter on your left a little ways down.

DHA's cattery and kennel are open to the public, and our animal care staff is available to help you meet adoptable cats and dogs, during the following hours:

Our client services staff is available to assist you at the shelter and by phone during the same hours listed above with:
Please be advised that our intake policy does NOT
allow us to take walk-in animal surrenders, whether owned or found
stray. All animal intake must be scheduled in advance. Please contact Delaware SPCA if
you have found a stray animal within the City of Wilmington limits, or Kent County SPCA for animals found anywhere else in
Delaware.
